The flash, whether built-in or external, consists mainly of a power source (e.g. AA batteries), capacitor (responsible for collecting energy for flashing) and discharge lamp (burner).
If the flash does not turn on, does not flash, has suffered a mechanical damage or is not functioning properly, it will be necessary to bring your equipment to the service center where the fault will be diagnosed.
Because of the authorizations we have, we primarily repair
Canon, Sony and Leica flashes.
By using the services of an authorized service center, you can be sure that only original parts will be used for repairs.
Direct delivery of necessary parts from the manufacturer’s warehouse, substantial stock at our service center, as well as professional technician team reduces the repair time.
Our service center diagnoses the equipment free of charge and offers a 6-month warranty for paid repairs
The most common flash repairs:
● The flash does not flash
The most common fault of the built-in and external flashes is
worn or damaged burner.
This component is responsible for the flash. Similarly to the camera shutter, the burner’s service life is shortened with each use.
The manufacturers of cameras and flashes do not specify the guaranteed number of discharges (flashes). The maximum number of flashes for each burner depends on many factors (e.g. the set flash intensity).
However, the manufacturers use high-quality components capable of providing thousands of flashes.
The burnout (wear) of the burner or its damage can manifest itself by noticeable decrease of the flash power, unusual noises (buzzing) preceding the flash, total lack of flash or random flashing, e.g. every few shutter releases
The second most important flash component is the capacitor, whose failure can also result in flash discontinuation or incorrect flashing.
The most common failure related to the capacitor is its mechanical damage, e.g. as a result of a strong impact.
The damage to this element manifests itself in unusual noises from the flash housing (during charging)
We recommend that you react quickly when symptoms of the burner burnout or capacitor damage appear. Using defective equipment can lead to more damages.
● The flash ZOOM does not work
Modern external flashes are equipped with automatic or manual adjustment of the flash angle of incidence, enabling the flash to correspond to a different field of vision of the lens used (from wide-angle lens to telephoto lens).
This component is the so-called
burner zoom and it includes a movable reflector increasing or decreasing the flash angle of incidence. Strong overload can result in a damage to the reflector or motor responsible for changing the reflector position.
In such a case, it is necessary to take the flash to the service center for detailed fault diagnosis and its removal.
Other faults and problems related to flashes repaired in our service center include:
► battery door cover does not close;
► flash release does not work;
► flash foot broken off;
► flash does not charge;
► flash diffuser broken off;
► flash – white sheet torn out;
